Boost for Rhondda women's football
14/9/2006

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council have appointed three new female football coaches. Theresa Kimble, Mandy Lock and Stephanie Gillard have recently attended the national Football Association of Wales C License.

The trio were able to study towards the award thanks to Rhondda Cynon Taf Council's Sports Development Unit, which funded their course and qualification in order to increase the number of female football coaches who are trained to this standard.

Stephanie lives in Llantrisant, Mandy in Abercynon and Theresa in Aberdare.

Coun Graham Thomas, Cabinet member for leisure, culture and tourism, said: "A big congratulations and well dome to Theresa, Mandy and Stephanie for their hard work and achievements.

"There are such few female coaches in the country who are trained to such a high standard and Rhondda Cynon Taf Council was delighted to be able to support them.

"Their training is great news for people in the county who want to get involved in football, developing the sport and standards."
